What is it?

Rad-Mat is the ultimate utility mat. It is a 48” by 48” thin neoprene rubber mat with a polyester cover on one side, and limitless uses. Several features combine to make it so useful:

  • Neoprene rubber base material
    • Chemical resistant: won’t absorb water or most chemicals
    • Durable: wear and tear-resistant
    • Dense: provides good cushion
    • Flexible: contours to work surfaces, and edges lay flat to avoid tripping hazard
    • Soft: provides good padding, and does not scratch delicate surfaces

High-friction: slip resistant

  • Polyester cover material
    • Durable: resists snags and tears
    • Cleanable: most messes wipe off easily
    • Soft: will not scratch delicate surfaces
    • Low-friction: flip it on the cover side, and use it to slide heavy items or materials over smooth surfaces.
  • 48” X 48” dimensions
    • Not too big: moderate size keeps the weight down and allows it to be easily stowed
    • Not too small: large enough work space for plenty of movement without having to move it
    • Adjustable: easy to fold and accommodate confined work spaces
  • Integrated stowage straps
    • Attached: can’t lose them
    • Flush-mounted: lay flat against the surface to avoid snags
    • Tidy: Rad-Mat folds down to a convenient size for easy storage

Construction:

  • Plumbing
    • In a tub or shower to protect porcelain, ceramic, delicate surface materials from boots and tools
    • On the floor for a softer work surface to kneel on
    • In a crawlspace so you don’t have to lay in the dirt
  • Flooring
    • Protect your knees
    • Flip it over and stack the flooring on it, so you can drag it where you need it, without scratching installed flooring
  • Roofing
    • Protect yourself from that hot roof while making repairs
  • Decking
    • Stay clean when you have to work under the deck
    • Stay comfortable when installing decking
  • Landscaping
    • Lay it down when repairing a sprinkler so you don’t have to kneel in the mud
    • Shovel dirt onto it when digging a hole, so you can use the same dirt to fill it back in. Just rinse it off.

Automotive:

  • Maintenance
    • Use it like a creeper
    • Drape it over your fender to protect the paint when working under the hood
    • You don’t have to lay in the dirt and gravel if you don’t have a nice shop
  • Tires/Wheels
    • Use it under those new aluminum rims when mounting tires, to avoid damage from concrete floors
    • Kneel on it when changing tires
  • Rescue
    • Great to protect Tow-Truck drivers from glass and gravel on the side of the road
    • You don’t have to kneel in the snow and slush when installing or removing chains.
